Besides these files, make sure you have installed VirtualBox on your machine. VirtualBox is available as a free download from this website:

The blog has been written using a Macbook Pro and Mac OSX. If you are using a Windows laptop or desktop, the steps will be the same, but screens will look slightly different. Now, let’s get started!

After downloading the image files, move the to a new folder or one folder up and unpack the file

After unzipping is completed, the folder VBOX_8_55_14_SHELL will be created.

On a Mac OSX machine, this folder will, by default, be in the same folder as the zip file.

On a Windows machine, the folder will be in the location you specified during unzipping.

Zip file 1 to 10 can be left in the folder, in the above example they are stored in the folder called “9.2.005 zips”. Zip files 12 to 15 are not necessary and can be deleted.

Next, go to VirtualBox and click on File > Import appliance.

Then use the folder icon to locate the VBOX_8_55_14_SHELL.ovf file on your local machine.

When you have selected the file, click “Continue”.

In your VirtualBox, you can now find the image we just loaded.
Next, go to: Settings > Shared Folders and add the folder where you stored your zip files.

Make sure you select Auto-mount!

Now, select the environment by double-clicking on the name.

After a while, the installation will ask you to enter a new UNIX password.

In this demo we will use “cs92dmo”.

When asked if you want to enable dynamic IP configuration enter N for no.

Set the static IP address to
Press enter/return when presented with the netmask.

Enter gateway:
Enter dns server:

Enter hostname (You are free to enter your own, in our example we will use the following):

In our example, the name of the database is CS92DMO.

Set the PS Connect ID: people
Set the PS Connect ID password: peop1e

Set a Weblogic Server Admin Password: Passw0rd

When asked “Are you happy with your answers?” in the overview, select Y for yes.

When asked “Do you want to continue with the default initialization process?”, select Y for yes.
The installation will now start!

After the installation is finished, you will be asked for a cs92dmo login, here you can enter: “Root” and password: “cs92dmo”.

After this, you can use the url: to login to your PeopleSoft Campus Solutions environment.

    Hi Mirke,

    1. You install virtualbox software on OSX, the PSCS 9.2 image runs as its own independent virtual machine on that software.

    2. We are up to image 10 now, you can download it from Oracle Support, use the virtualbox image version to install this stand alone environment.
