4. Overview of Mobile Digital Engagement –
a. Compelling digital experience leading to 90% digital adoption that provides real value to the student – Virtual Community, Centralization of resources.
b. Ability to leverage push notifications and direct messages to students who are difficult to reach.

Session 3

The Top Five Risks to PeopleSoft Data: What Are They & How You Can Protect Yourself – Greg Sosna (Appsian)

Link to session recording

2020’s rapid shift to remote and hybrid access would simultaneously introduce new levels of complexity, along with an expanded threat surface. With most organizations having to manage these threats on the fly, solutions like Virtual Private Networks (VPN) and Multi-Factor Authentication became table stakes. However, most organizations quickly realized that enabling application security was not the same as enabling data security. In fact, they are completely different disciplines. The fact of the matter is traditional information security strategies focus on networks and applications, leaving very little thought to how to protect the data inside the application – especially data at the UI/transaction level.  Each day, unnecessary amounts of PII and business data can, and are, being accessed in ways that put your organization at risk. How can you manage those risks? What are they? In this session, we will walk you through the Top Five Risks to PeopleSoft data that bypass traditional network and application layer controls. We will also provide you with insights and recommendations on how you can mitigate these risks before they become a massive liability.

We will specifically address:

* The key differences between application security and data security
* How bad actors can bypass traditional application security controls to exploit data
* Where are the key visibility gaps within PeopleSoft transactions that are most frequently exploited
* How you can leverage your existing identity & access management and logging solutions to start managing data risks immediately

Session 1

Less Rules, More Evaluation – Nicci Kleynhans (Visions)

Evaluation Management allows for automatic evaluations and is based on Rules Engine rules. A small add-on development has enhanced the business user experience, where they do not have to code the Rules Engine Rules, but just configure the appropriate parameters to calculate Admissions evaluations, still using Rules Engine Rules.

Session 2

Your PeopleSoft Future is in your Database and what you can Layer Onto It! – Paul Rhinehart (Smartpanda)

Link to session recording

More and more of what the industry is evolving to (and what we are doing w/ SmartPanda), is we are layering functionality and user interface “on top of” or “outside of” the vanilla PeopleSoft.
For example REST API’s to provide a “seamless” real time experience outside PeopleSoft but talking to PeopleSoft. Or, javascript or data visualizations using PeopleSoft Data to render user experiences that do not use PeopleTools objects. We will discuss general industry directions as well as showcase various practices we are using at SmartPanda such as Cloud-based HUB, REST APIs, Raptor PDF processor, Surveys, Tags and other such innovations.

Session 3

From chatbot to digital assistant– Stefan van Liempt (CY2)

Link to session recording

In Last year’s EIS2020 event we talked about the key design principles to create awesome chatbots.
Whether you’re just thinking about chatbots or already have a few running, there comes a time your bots need to team up! Bots are supposed to be intelligent on their own, however a natural integration between your bots is another challenge. Most bots don’t even know of each other’s existence, leaving users on a scavenger hunt to find their answers from different bots deployed in different locations in your organisation.
Digital assistants (or master chatbots) are a one-stop-shop for users that help them find the right answers.
In this session we will look at a campus digital assistant and how it can find answers by consulting different chatbots. We will have a live demo of how a digital assistant delegates its tasks to other chatbots to pull various data out of Campus Solutions while presenting one interface to the user.

The PeopleSoft Directory Viewer – Eve Sapp (CY2)

Link to session recording

The PeopleSoft Directory Viewer functionality is a free module for Campus Solutions that delivers front-end functionality to manage files and directories on PeopleSoft servers for end users.

The functionality is commonly used to:

  1. Allow developers access to log files on the application server and web server for debugging errors and viewing integration logs.
  2. Allow end users the ability to upload and delete files to / from specific directories that can be used as upload directories for business transactions that require external files (csv / excel / etc.).

Modernize PeopleSoft Authentication By Integrating SSO And MFA – Greg Wendt (Appsian)

Link to session recording

2020 introduced a myriad of risks to PeopleSoft data, mainly from remote and mobile access. In 2021, organizations must ensure that legacy ERP applications, like PeopleSoft, are prepared to deliver secure, frictionless authentication – starting with enabling a seamless SSO and dynamic MFA. This means native integration is required! Learn how to accomplish this without making customizations to PeopleSoft or adding additional hardware.

Join us as we discuss:
• How to overcome the headaches of customizations and reverse proxies for enabling SAML 2.0
• How adaptive MFA can be the key to a layered yet frictionless authentication strategy.
• How to enable stepped-up authentication once a user tries to access sensitive data
• Why the Appsian Security Platform is the gold standard for enabling PeopleSoft authentication – especially when access is granted outside the firewall
